Allied Artists — an update in July 2015

Allied artists have been busy in the last twelve months.
Here are some headlines — more info about our projects can be found on the projects page.

Ben is currently working on his new book, the first three chapters of which got him nominated for the Sky Arts Academy Award. Whilst this is now his main focus, in the past year he has also worked and performed on Bedazzled – A Welshman in New York for the Dylan Thomas 100 Celebrations, wrote and produced A Knight’s Peril, an interactive adventure in Bodiam Castle for The National Trust, and created …beneath our feet, the stars… an interactive, ambient play installation that was shortlisted for the Playable City Award in 2014.
Ben is Managing Editor of Book Kernel, a company which makes a book of your event and gets it to you before that event is over. An exploration of their website is highly recommended!

Emma has recently assisted John Caird on McQueen by James PHillips, which had a seven week run at the  St James’ Theatre. In the past year she has also directed Scan Artists by award winning playwright Evan Placey which had a three week run at The Yard and during the summer of 2014 Emma was associate director on The Sound of Yellow at the Young Vic working with a cast of fifty community members and director Matthew Xia.

After a successful run of Through the Grapevine performed wine tastings in the autumn of 2014, Krysta has been busy completing her doctoral thesis. Returning to the distant shores of the US, plans are well underway for Through the Grapevine and other, taste-related ventures to be launched internationally.

In the summer of 2014, Roanna returned to performance installation Imagining O, this time in the US as part of Peak Performances, for a critically acclaimed iteration of the piece. The past year’s work also includes Resting Place in Folkestone, UK, Through the Grapevine in Canterbury, UK, a TEDx talk on confronting the merchants of body hatred, and ongoing investigation of Michael Chekhov technique with Cass Fleming’s company through The Little Prince, with upcoming performances in 2016.

New works are in the pipeline, including an exciting new collaboration between Allies, and the addition of new Allied artists. Watch this space!
